Audio-visual composition set in past and present personal travel memories of Paris.

Filmed 16 years apart, my memories of Paris were captured on camera by my father in 2000 and by myself in 2016. Without seeing the initial footage, upon the trip in 2016, I ended up with similar material both in style – shaky camera, obnoxious zoom – and in content – Champs Elyse, the Paris Metro, Eiffel Tower and Parisian cafes. I cut these two memories of similar places together to unify them into my own version of the past.

The audio was recorded on location on the most recent trip and processed to show a decay and degradation of the older footage when juxtaposed with it.
