Ecstasies of Things

Collaboration with Christine Cornwell

Commissioned by Screen Dive for Gaudeamus Music Week Festival 2022

A disection table, a seance, a meal, a social encounter. Ecstasies of things brings together four audience members around a table infused with special yet mundane things that Adriana and Christine have gathered over the years. With sound and touch, the two performers gently guide the audience’s attention to the qualities these objects emanate. All types of participation are allowed: participants can touch, sing or simply observe the power to move us that objects and spaces have. Christine and Adriana hold the fabric of the performance with care for the non-human, they move and are being moved by unexpected encounter.
